These uncertain days we live in with the COVID 19 virus pandemic and the uncertainty of commerce tempts us to live in fear, doubt and uncertainty.  While this is a time where we need each other more than ever, it is also a time when our government has asked us to limit personal interactions.

They have not requested us to stop worshipping and the Lord has given us the ability to share God’s word via the internet.

The Holy Spirit reminds us in the book of Romans that it is Holy and Righteous to cooperate with our government:

 “Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. So anyone who rebels against authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and they will be punished.” - Rom 13:1-2 NLT

Paul would also encourage Titus to speak to the believers in Crete:

“Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.” - Tit 3:1-2 NKJV

Consequently, for the next two Sundays we will not meet at the church, but share God’s word together on the internet.  God has given us a wonderful model for the times we live in in Genesis 47 which we will discuss this Sunday.  Hopefully, it will serve us as a model for hope in these challenging days.

I want to encourage everyone to check on each other and encourage each other and stay in fellowship through calls and texts.  In the meantime,

"The LORD bless you and keep you;

The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;

 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace."

Num 6:24-26 NKJV

Hi Everyone,

It is time to add our praises to the praises of heaven.  My friend Sherri Youngward posted a wonderful devotion and music that I emphatically recommend to you.  In it she notes that, in praise, "these declarations let faith take the lead!"  I cannot think of anything we need more today to combat fear, isolation and frustration about the uncertain future than "letting faith take the lead" in our lives.

Here is the link to Sherri's devotion... enjoy with joy and praise

Blessings to you,

You can expect that we are happy to see you!

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! - Ps 133:1 NLT

Sunday at Calvary Chapel is a time of fellowship. Doors open early and you are welcome to come and enjoy fellowship over a cup of coffee or tea before service starts.
We have a great children’s ministry team to take care of your children, so parents, especially Mom’s with deployed husbands can take a break with Jesus while their children are in a safe spiritual environment. Service begins with music that ranges from contemporary songs to hymns, followed by expository teaching of the word though the Bible, ending with a chance to digest the word. The body celebrates communion together on the first Sunday of the month. You are welcome to hang out afterwards to enjoy fellowship, and we encourage you to make friends and build strong Spiritual relationships.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. - Gal 5:13 ESV

There are lots of opportunities to serve at Calvary Chapel of Jacksonville both small and large. Because Jacksonville is a transient town we like to give you the opportunity to get to know us while
we are getting to know you. We encourage you to join us for service oriented ministry.

What we believe.

We believe the only basis of Christian fellowship is Christ’s (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess, and without which we have no right to claim ourselves as Christians.

We would like to thank you for your contribution to the Lord’s work.

2 Corinthians 9:7-8
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a
cheerful giver. And God [is] able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having
all sufficiency in all [things], may have an abundance for every good work.

Calvary Chapel is a 501(C)3 organization and donations are tax deductible.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

                 Jeremiah 29:11-13
